Here are some recent callers and their questions.

  1. I have been listening to the show and heard you talk about the increase in credit card payments. I have quite a bit of debt because of an illness and I was not able to work for 6 months. I’ve been back to work for quite a while and, like you said, I have seen my payments more than double. It wasn’t a big deal before, but now it is really killing me. I just don’t seem to be able to make any progress?
  2. I have $100k in cash from the sale of my house and we want to buy a new house and I know it is a great time to buy something. I was going to use the whole amount to put down on the new house, but after listening to your show, I’m not sure that is the best thing to do. Can you give me some advice?
  3. I bought my house just under 2yrs ago. We had some credit problems and as a result, needed a loan that was fixed for 2 yrs. I don’t know how much the rate is going to increase, but from what I hear it could be a lot. How can I find out
  4. We have been married for 3 yrs and are ready to buy a house. We have been religiously saving and have put aside about $35,000 to use. What types of things should we do if we would like to get the ball rolling and be in a house before end of summer? Have thought about using an interest only loan, but not sure if that is the best thing…
  5. My wife & I got our house about 3 yrs ago and my credit was pretty good. My problem was I had just started my business and we ended up getting a loan that will start to adjust after 3 yrs. I was listening to the show and heard you guys talking about it and it reminded me of my situation. Do you have any suggestions?
  6. I closed on a new house just a couple of months ago and bought it before it was built. It appraised for about $400,000 and we paid $250,000 for it over a year ago. I would like to tap into the equity for a couple of reasons, but my friend and my bank told me that I would have to wait at least a year before I could do anything. Is that true?
  7. I have a friend that has bought a couple of houses from builders pre-construction and sold them and made a pretty good amount of money. He keeps telling me that I should get into it also. I see new developments all over the area but I am not sure which ones are the best deals right now. Is there still opportunity to make money here or not?
  8. I have had my house for 6 yrs. About 2 yrs ago, my company relocated to Texas and I decided not to go, so I quit and was not able to find a good replacement job for about 6 months. Since I didn’t have much savings, I racked up about $35k in credit card debt just to cover living expenses. It wasn’t that big a deal until the payments almost tripled a few months ago. Now it is killing me and I am just getting by. I heard you talking about this and wanted to call to see if you could help me out.
  9. I have owned my home for 3 yrs and I have about $150k in equity. I would like to look into buying some investment property and either renting it out or fixing it up and selling it. Is it difficult to get financing for investment properties? What do I need to know to get started?
  10. I bought my house just under 2 yrs ago and got a 2yr ARM mortgage because I had a bankruptcy a few yrs back. I know that the rate is about to adjust and I am concerned about the jump in payment. Can you help me look at this and figure out what to do?
