What individuals have influenced you most and how?

My Grandparents; John C. and Willene D. Keenum. They lived through the Great Depression, served our country all over the world during World War II and the Korean War, loved each other through thick and thin, lived on cabbage and tea when they had no money, raised 3 kids – one of which was adopted from war-torn Korea and taught me to depend on Jesus Christ for all things in life.

What would surprise us to know about you?

I am a former United States Marine Officer and am really afraid of snakes.

What is your favorite verse of scripture?

1 Cor. 16:13 “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men – be strong.” (NASB)

What was the best book you have read - what book would you recommend (Other than the Bible)?

Good to Great by Jim Collins. He takes the idea of settling for good and shows how that actually leads to dismal performance over time. He then contrasts individuals who strive to do great things and actually leave a legacy of increased impact on the world around them by striving for excellence.

What hidden talent do you have?

I am an enthusiastic and passionate drummer. I enjoy all types of music from Big Band Swing to very loud Rock and Roll. I play on the Worship Team at Metro Life Church, am the drummer in a jazz band called His Hands, am the drummer in a rock band called Alliance, and have had the privilege of playing drums on several recording projects with various artists.

At what age did you trust Christ as your Savior?

My Grandmother took me to her United Methodist Church during my youth. I trusted Christ at age 12 at the completion of my Confirmation Class. However, during my sophomore year at Texas A&M I became involved in Campus Crusade for Christ and really began to understand what a personal relationship with Christ was supposed to look like.

Where were you raised?

I was born in Annapolis, Maryland and grew up primarily in Silver Spring, Maryland.
